Medicina Bucureşti

In opinia mea, biblioteca unui medic (mai ales mefist convins ca mine ), ar trebui sa contina carti din fiecare specialitate medicala. Pentru ca pe piata sunt atatea si atatea carti si carticele care mai de care cu pretentii de cea mai buna carte, m-am gandit ca poate ar fi mai indicat sa va intreb pe voi, colegii de alta specialitate, care sunt cartile de baza pentru specialitatea voastra.Ce spuneti ma ajutati? Deja l-am cules pe domnul Braunwald de la cardiologie. Multam fain.

si pe mine m-ar interesa ce ar fi mai ok pentru renal-nefrologie
cred ca ar fi ok sa spunem si cam ce carti avem prin biblioteca

Umila mea biblioteca medicala personala (o exclud pe cea a mamei), este alcatuita din extraordinarele carti cumparate de musai, silit, dar de buna voie pana la urma,de la profii pe unde ne-am perindat pentru stagii, respectiv: Compendiul de boli cv al doamnei dr. Maria Dorobantu, Cartea de radiologie a dr. Zaharia si dr. Georgescu, Esentialul in nefro al lui Ursea. Ma rog si mai sunt unele neimportante si proaste de bubuie. Mai am un Merck, un ghid de analize de la Synevo (e super tare, iti ia fiecare analiza in parte,si o intoarce pe toate partile- cum, de ce, pentru ce), si Netter (ca doar orice medic trebuie sa aibe un atlas de anato). Din cartile mamei, as recomanda cu caldura una de care m-am indragostit iremediabil.Cred ca se mai gaseste doar la anticariate dat fiind anul nasterii ei, 1981. E o carte de medicina interna, care iti explica si ce n-ai visat vreodata ca iti poate explica o carte de medicina mai recenta (eu cel putin n-am intalnit explicatiile din Podeanu in alta carte din zilele noastre). E vorba de A. Paunescu Podeanu - Bazele clinice pentru practica medicala (3vol). E drept ca medinica este intr-o continua schimbare,si ar fi greu sa tinem pasul cu noile aparitii editoriale, dar ma gandesc ca baza in mare nu se schimba. Asa ca...go for it guys!

Ghidul de la Synevo l-am primit de la un rep care a venit in cabinet cand eram si eu pe acolo. Nu stiu daca il gasesti sa-l cumperi, dar iti dau niste adrese de contact de la Synevo, poate vorbesti cu ei si vei fi si tu fericitul posesor al unui ghid. Sediul Central Synevo Romania Str. Ghidul respectiv se gaseste in varianta online si pe siteul synevo. Intr-adevar, este un ghid foarte complex si util ( este facut dupa Fishbah, care este dat la bibliografie).

gigapedia.org ....... one stop for all medical books. with the miserly salary we get we can't really buy new books and update our medical libraries every 3-4 years. sites like gigapedia r an excellent source for books in electronic format. (if u don't know english/french/german/spanish then that is the first problem to resolve. knowledge of at least one of the above-mentioned languages is essential)

read what i wrote one more time ..... i am not complaining, just guiding fellow doctors to a good source of information. (and romanian doctors r really poorly paid, so we need to make use of every free resource we can get our hands on)

miserly salary = salar de mizerie (aproximativ)..... miser's salary = salar de camatar (banuiesc)

ai dreptate.... but u can't retain all the information that is out there..... the collection of books or any other resource is just for renewing your knowledge (or adding to it).
doody's core titles in the health sciences is a very good place to start if u want to know about the best books in all specialties.
the oxford handbooks r indeed excellent resources.

what i meant was stingy (it's pretty obvious).... english words can have several meanings (as u have pointed out) ...... and language is just a mode of communication, so let's not get all patriotic about it.

ooooo....imed isn't working..... i am shaking like a leaf just thinking of all the ghastly things u could have written....blowing off steam on a forum is a good way to maintain your sanity though.

not saving lives.....improving the quality of life of my patients. i am not Jesus, all i can do is alleviate the suffering of my patients (physical or mental). i am sure u know medicine isn't about performing miracles.

cu algocalmin n-avem, cu citostatic e prea scump, cu spitale aiurea, cu scris foi?? care life? aia de 10 zile din spital e o molecula de life. si asistent social nu stiu sa aiba multe unitati sanitare la noi. si degeaba ii faci cpap si bipap si simv si ii recrutezi alveole si pleaca nenea acasa proaspat ca un trandafir daca life-ul lui e stinky si fumeaza ca atata are pe lumea asta si vine inapoi injurandu-te ca i-ai luat si bruma de banut care mai venea pe posta pt un tratament care nu i-a folosit. nu stiu pe ce specialitate esti, dar simt o nevoie acuta de a-ti aminti ca nu esti la yale.

cred ca asta a fost mai de folos pentru colegul mefist care foloseste cuvinte aproximative intr-un praxis aproximativ cu niste pacienti foarte ... exacti. cred ca kooksee intelesese daja, dupa cum a construit fraza.

I don't get it. What's your problem with gaurav baba? First of all, he's not Arab. Second of all: you have a problem with Arabs too? (My Arab friend from med school was way smarter, better prepared and harder working than all of us, little Romanians).Third of all: all the essential books and journals are IN ENGLISH. All of them. No exception. English is the latin of our age, so no one should be upset if it's a current language here on imed, even if poorly written (so what, my English is horrible too). Maybe we should write in English more often, for practice.
Fourth of all: i don't see the point of having shelves up to the ceiling packed with leader bound, nice old medical textbooks anymore, except if you want to impress the patient with your vast knowledge... Textbooks, nowadays, should be read only when you have a big exam coming up. If you want to stay up to date, read the best medical journals, learn how to interpret a paper, etc. Textbooks are perishable, so yeah, I don't see the point in buying the hard cover (unless the patients need some impressing, as I said). I have a big exam coming up, and I use the electronic versions, instead of spending hundreds of bulions of lions on the books, there.
